Well, the realtors of course told me I shouldn't try to sell the house on my own. I have bought and sold 8 homes in my life and have NEVER had a good real estate experience --- never. So, whatever it takes, I will not use a realtor again. Ever. And, by the way, the police for this site says "Refrain from self-promotion".

My first suggestion is "Don't" You need a Realtor for many reasons. One being security. Realtors do not waste time with clients that are not qualified. You on the other hand, are opening your home to persons who may or may not be qualified, or even a criminal element that could be previewing your home for a later criminal activity! So, for security reasons, I would suggegst you use a licensed Realtor. Marketing your home is difficult as an individual. Craigs List is one way that's easy and free. Paper ads are very expensive with little results. Putting up flyers in your local community businesses may help... All I can say is best of luck. The odds are not in your favor for sellig on your own.

Would you operate on your self to save money? What do you know about your surgery? A realtor is well worth every cent you pay them to keep you out of court. Every state has different laws about disclosure and what you as a seller has to disclose and not knowing the law sets you up for a potential law suite. In Oregon you can be sued for up to 6 years by a buyer that thinks they were taken advantage of and the realtor knows this. Good luck to you.

Why would you want to? this is a buyers market and most areas have more houses on the market than there are buyers. You need all the advantages of a realtor to get the house sold.
